Abuse - physical, emotional and sexual

  • Childline - phoneline and support for under 18's
  • Rape Crisis - support for girls over 14 and women who have experienced sexual violence either currently or historically
  • NAPAC (National Association of People Abused in Childhood) Support to adults who were abused in any form in childhood. Most workers here have personal experience of abuse when young. Email support - support@napac.org.uk or helpline 0800 085 3330
  • Survivors Trust - An umbrella organisation that holds information on lots of rape and abuse support services around the country
  • First Person Plural - an organisation offering support to people who experience dissociation because of abuse.
  • The Pottergate Centre - Wide range of services for people who dissociate through traumatic experiences. Can offer guidance and support to you and to any professionals like your doctor or counsellor who are supporting you

Carers - support for a young person who is caring for someone else.

Counselling

  • Youth Access - Website of over 200 counselling services for young people in the UK
  • NHS choices - access to free CBT therapy through your GP
  • Counselling Directory - Find a counsellor or psychotherapist near you using the database of UK counsellors and therapists

Death and Bereavement

  • Cruse - for adults affected by the death of someone
  • RD4U - (Cruse for young people)

Dissociation

  • The Pottergate Centre - Wide range of services for people who dissociate through traumatic experiences. Can offer guidance and support to you and to any professionals like your doctor or counsellor who are supporting you.  www.dissociation.co.uk

Hearing Voices

Home - running away from

  • Missing People - 24 hour service for young people and adults who have had to leave home for whatever reason. Phone line and text for free (even  if no credit). Your calls will not be traced and you will not be forced to go home. www.missingpeople.org.uk or call 0800 800 7070 (under 18's) or 0800 700 740  (over 18's) or text 80234 (any age).
