Hidden Pain?

Self-injury and people with learning disabilities

This project looking at the perspectives of people with learning disabilities who self-injure drew to a close at the end of November 2009. This research study was carried out by Bristol Crisis Service for Women and the Norah Fry Research Centre.  It was funded by a Big Lottery Fund research grant.

This is the first time a study has actually asked people with learning disabilities throughout the UK about their own understandings of their
self-injury and what would help them.
