Two Day Course
Course Aim
Grounded in good practice, this two day course will equip workers coming from a variety of settings in health, education, social care and the voluntary sector to feel confident and informed when responding to adult (16+) survivors of child sexual abuse. With a strong focus on both emotional understanding and practical support approaches it aims to inform, raise awareness and offer opportunities for skill development to the participants attending.

- explore some common myths and stereotypes about CSA and their impact on individuals and organisations
- recieve basic information about the legal framework when working with both child and adult survivors of CSA and gain clarity about signposting to specialist services
- consider the consequence of CSA for both children and adults and what coping strategies might be employed by individuals to help them survive their experiences
- explore a variety of skills and responses that are supportive when responding to people who have experienced CSA
