Support Services Peer Support Services Peer Support Services Peer Services Approach Self Injury Support's Peer Services offer non-medical, non-judgmental support from people with their own experience of self-harm. We’re willing to talk about things that others often aren’t and we believe that compassionate support from people with similar experiences can have a positive impact on how people understand their self-harm and how best to manage it. The support we offer is completely led by what people referred need. From our own experiences we know that self-harm can play many roles in people’s lives – helpful and unhelpful. We do not expect people to stop using self-harm. But if they want to think about stopping self-harm, we will absolutely support them to do that Urgent Care Follow Up Service Self-injury Support runs a peer support service for people in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire over the age of 18 who either attend urgent care or A&E for self-harm and do not meet the criteria for onward referral to secondary care or crisis support or who are assessed as too high risk for IAPT support but do not meet the criteria for secondary care. We offer emotional support, facilitated community connections and an opportunity to explore your self-harm with someone who has been there. We can also support people referred to this service to access our listening and group support services. Access to this service is by referral through A&E, Urgent Care or IAPT services.
