"It's saved my life"

Since 1988 we have been supporting women and girls in emotional distress and offering education and information about self-injury, the reasons behind it and best practice in support around self-injury.

"You're proof that not all superheroes wear capes"

We have been awarded the 'Volunteering MBE' or the Queen's Award for Volunteering, the highest award given to volunteer-led organisations across the UK.

In 2017 we...

  • Responded to over 18000 text messages from women affected by self-injury;
  • Supported 65% of clients to reduce or stop using self-injury altogether
  • Trained more than 200 staff from health, education and social care to offer better support for self-injury

What People Have Told Us

  • "The volunteer I spoke to made a much bigger difference than she could ever know. It's really given me so much hope"
  • "This has been the best website to support me. It is not patronising, not medical, just thoughtful in a most gentle way. Thank you is too simple, but I hope it reaches you."
  • "It's hard for me to talk about it and I just need a place that I can voice what I'm feeling without actually saying anything. I had that here."
