“Working with Self Injury Support has unified my combined passion for research, gender specific care and mental health advocacy, all of which are delivered with heart-felt kindness and real empathy. I am continually inspired by the outstanding work of Self Injury Support and I am honored to be able to contribute towards their cause.” - Caitlin, former trustee

Eilish
"My name is Eilish and I am the Co-chair of the Board of Trustees. I have worked in the non-profit sector for almost a decade, with my work focusing on Project Management, Relationship Building and Fundraising. My career has taken me all over the world and I have had the opportunity to work with so many amazing organisations. I was drawn to volunteering with Self Injury Support because I too suffered with compulsive self injury for more than 10 years. At the time, I didn't have the information or support needed to fully understand my journey. So, when I realised that an organisation out there was supporting women just like me to overcome challenges much like mine, and that they needed industry professionals to help them do it, I signed right up. It has been an amazing experience and I am so proud of everything SIS does."
Charlotte
"I have volunteered with female empowerment and mental health charities in the Bristol area for over ten years, and am a passionate advocate for providing services for marginalised groups and individuals who can’t access the frontline support they might need. As co-chair of Trustees, I am excited and proud to shape the governance component for SIS’s fantastic and dedicated team, as the organisation develops and builds on its services. Post-pandemic, our staff and volunteer expertise and unique skillsets are needed more than ever."
Lily
"I began as a volunteer on the helpline and TESS services for several years, before becoming a Trustee with SIS. I am passionate about the work we do, and continually inspired by everyone who works and volunteers there. I feel so honoured to be able to play a part in ensuring SIS continues to fulfil its vital aims."
Eleanor
"I'm Eleanor, my day job is as an academic focusing on research involving marginalised children and families. I have a particular interest in children in care, the family justice system, and criminalised women and young people. In my work and in my life I am interested in understanding various forms of harm through a gendered lens. I also have lived experience of self-injury, and I am really passionate about the aims of SIS and the unique support that we offer."
Amy Wells
"I was drawn to SiS because of its non-judgmental and non-directive approach to support around self-injury, and because of its roots as a lived experience-led organisation. I aim to bring knowledge and skills from my experience working and volunteering in the charity sector, as well as my lived experience, to the Board. I currently work in communications and membership management for the National Survivor User Network (NSUN), a charity and membership organisation for user-led groups and individuals with lived experience of mental ill health, distress, and trauma."
